Heavenly Father, we praise you for sending us your only Son, Jesus Christ, to save and redeem us. We thank you for all the blessings you have showered upon us.
As we prepare for the coming of Christ this Christmas, open our hearts to see where you are already at work in us. Free us from things that hold us back from the abundant life that you so lovingly give us.
Dear Lord Jesus, enkindle in our hearts a burning desire to know your ways and to love you more and more. Give us the courage to follow your path, and to share your love with others.
Lord Jesus, we pray for all children who have no home or who live in homes with little care and affection. Please bridge the gap between the love they deserve and the love they receive. We also pray that in your great mercy, you would look kindly upon all those who are in need.
May we be filled with the lightness of your Spirit, and so be mindful of the true meaning of Christmas. Amen.
He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him.
But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born not of natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man's decision but of God.
